Well, aren't you just a little bit dangerous with a capability like that, my friend.
[ he says it as a statement rather than a question. ]
So, what intense feeling do you hear from me? ...Or, are you saying that it's a silence from me that's so loud after being used to hearing from so many?
...To be honest, I don't know if those situations can help me, as I've never experienced any help as a result so far. If anything, I've felt less connected, not more. The more I see others connect here when the connections don't even make any sense and fail at those connections myself, the further disconnected I feel from everything and everyone. Trying and getting nowhere is exhausting for me.
I do admit the concept is fascinating and is a bit of a magic bullet in my mind, in a way, though. But so far, there's no magic bullet for me.
[ Just a little bit dangerous, Sam says and he doesn't know hard that slams into home. The boy drops his hands to his lap and looks away - it's almost enough to hide the flinch. Almost. ]
[ Something bubbles up and he caps it down. He caps it all down into that perpetual stillness that had been creeping up to the surface - ready to cloak and hide in a moment's notice now. He shrugs. ]
It doesn't matter. If you can't hear it, it's hard to explain anyway.
[ A half truth. He could say both. He doesn't. Instead his gaze is trained away from the table, half looking out one of the windows and the leaves slowly fluttering to the ground. ]
You can't force connections. Who someone becomes close to doesn't have to make sense? I won't say it's "fate," but sometimes there are forces that bring people together in that exact moment and even if they don't make sense to the outside it makes sense to them...?
Maybe you're just looking in the wrong places. Or... if you let yourself feel more, you'd find them in the right places?
It could be! And that would make coming back to a "murderboat" pretty okay with me in the end.
Think I've already talked more in depth with you about real things than every person on this boat, with the exception of one or two— combined. And you certainly made a far more positive impact in your responses than any of them, too.
My ability to tell isn't a skill or anything. It's just usually those who try to focus getting into my head disrupt my mental hold on my own Blessings and they go haywire.
But most people are pretty amateur with their blessings and abilities, especially on this boat. It sounds like your vision self is pretty strong.
I think most people are also just coming into them? I didn't know my last blessing until I got here but... I've been this way forever. In any life, I guess.
[ but the rest makes his gaze turn determinedly to the window. ]
Mm... power is neither good nor bad, but it can be constructive or destructive.
Even the best of people with the best of intentions can cause harm to others. I think that's less about the power itself, though, and the moral and ethical aspects. So I would try not to look at the power itself as the problem.
[ He takes in a breath sharp and then he just stops. ]

Re: DAY 268; early afternoon
I'm almost always looking in the wrong places, I'm sure. What do you do when there are no right places?
Re: DAY 268; early afternoon
Re: DAY 268; early afternoon
[ not brushing him off, but of course there is doubt. ]
Re: DAY 268; early afternoon
Maybe that "right place" is with us? There's a reason you're here, right?

Re: DAY 268; early afternoon
You'll regret saying that. I'm not even at full power yet.

Re: DAY 268; early afternoon
... I just meant that we barely know each other and that I'm not, like, super trying in that regard, y'know?
I do try to ignore things I shouldn't know most of the time.

I know a lot about his power and his family and it's - not really good.
Re: DAY 268; early afternoon
Re: DAY 268; early afternoon
His power comes from one of his mom's and even though she was considered a superhero... the whole world is pretty afraid of her.

He has, too. He's killed people he cared about - accidentally - but it still counts.

That's just it -
The power is the problem. Because they can do stuff without actually meaning to without even knowing how they do it- Without -
