🖤 The vision starts with you and Agatha walking the Witches' Road. The Road itself is a familiar orangeish-yellow. Although you walk essentially side-by-side, you do not talk to Agatha nor do you look at her. You're trying to close yourself off to her or - perhaps - as she says taunts you about it possibly causing a nosebleed you are trying to read her mind. Maybe it's both! 💙 "I'm not," you say without looking at her with a cold manner that's become your new routine. Agatha gives a ho of a laugh and continues on, "You can just ask me your questions. Aloud." You stab immediately to where you know she's unlikely to answer, "Okay, so where's Rio?" 🖤 "Not that question," she retorts and then tilts her head in your direction, "any other queries for your old babysitter? That's the whole reason you bought a ticket to ride - isn't it? I'm your mom's... ex best friend." 💙 You haven't looked at her this entire time. You've stone-walled her as much as you can, but this cause you to turn to her with no lack of vehemence. 🖤 "I'll get what I want at the end of the Road. And she's not my mom, I have a mom." 💙 Agatha pretends to be intimidated. You continue walking for a few more moments, but your curiosity wins out. "Is Wanda Maximoff really dead?" With no uncertain truth, you know this is the mother she was hinting at. She responds immediately with, "Yes" but deciding that she can't not mess with you adds in a - No, Maybe. Irritated you ask which is it to which she tells you, "If you want a straight answer ask a straight lady." You roll your eyes at the MCU's attempt to keep Wanda's death vague. 🖤 The Road leads you to a foreboding castle. Agatha attempts to commentate on it, but you can't help the snark of More vague insight, thank you. "In my experience," she begins but you're quick to cut her off with that growing coldness. "In your experience? I honestly believed your experience would be the key to our success here." 💙 She counters that the two of them are alive and that must mean success, but you don't agree. You tell her you doubt she's ever actually been on the Road before and walk past her to the castle. 🖤 The two of you push the doors to the castle open together and are met with the inside of a castle spire. You're now dressed in popular media witch costumes (Elphaba and Maleficient). Taking in the castle and your outfits you can't help but sass her to "Prove it," that Elphaba was based off of her. 💙 Agatha finds the castle's trial to be deck of Tarot Cards and a table that reads "your path winds out of time". Excited that you guys might make it out of this one because you kind of know Tarot you pick up the cards and the trial begins. 🖤 You read for Agatha. It does not go well because the first card you pull is the Chariot but you don't even know it's name. Agatha calls you out on it, saying that the name's on the card and you blow her off with a "whatever" and place the card down. The moment you do a sword falls from above. Looking up you both find that your danger in this trial is a ceiling full of swords that will fall each time you get it wrong. 💙 A little more wary, the two of you continue. You pull out the next card: Seven of Swords. You know this one! You tell her that it means deception and betrayal and Agatha agrees she's all of those things. But you counter that it's reversed, so it means she must be telling the truth. 🖤 She shrugs her shoulders at you as if to say: Who knows? You make a pffting sound as you place the card down, "Well that can't be right."Another sword falls directly behind you. 💙 Agatha, now done with your attempt at reading, grabs up the cards calling tarot a con. You disagree, but it doesn't matter - Agatha starts wildly placing the cards down on the table. Predictably, the swords start falling from the ceiling with each placement as she (panicked) manically laughs and you just become immediately alarmed. 🖤 A card goes down and you have just enough time to look up and down and jump out of your seat before it slices through it where you would have just been sitting. From the ground you huff at her, "Your turn is going great!" She calls it a numbers games and they just have to get all the swords out of the ceiling - without dying to them - and you tell her that the maths aren't mathing. 💙 As if to show Agatha how very wrong she is, the ceiling starts to come down. The two of you look at it and you wish out loud that Lilia was here... and at that precise moment, Lilia and Jen tumble through a bookshelf (dressed as Galinda and the Evil Queen). 🖤 "You're alive," you exclaim quietly and realizing this take a small step back - You had been the one to try to kill them. Sensing this as she gets her bearings Lilia waves a hand at you, "Relax, baby, we're cool." "We are?!" Jen cries. 💙 Lilia approaches the table and asks who massacred the spread. On queue you and Agatha point at each other saying it was the other but - really - Agatha is the one caught red-handed as she hurriedly puts the deck down. 🖤 Lilia asks who the querent is. You hop in immediately - "You mean who's the subject? Me. I'm the queerent," you try to joke. 💙 She settles into doing the reading quickly, but the other two women are fussed. They say they don't have time for it and the only thing they need to know is how to get out of the trial. Lilia is insistent that Tarot must be done properly and that you - Teen - must ask a question vital to his journey on Earth (that is not just not getting impaled). 🖤 "Am I William or am I Billy?" You finally blurt out and Lilia smiles at you, "Excellent question." 💙 Lilia explains what the spread is. Nothing happens so the others urge her to go on. She tells you to draw your first card. You are the Magician. You have enormous potential and the ability to turn all of your goals into reality. Very fitting. She places the card down. Another sword falls. 🖤 Continue, she insists, as panic sets in on the group. What's missing? The Sun.Good fortune, joy, reunion. Reunion? You ask as she starts to place the card down, but another sword drops. 💙 Pick again - the path behind. You pick up a card, but she doesn't get to see it before another sword begins to drop - again exactly where Lilia would be seated. Agatha tackles her out of the chair to save her. 🖤 Ill-amused and out of sorts, Lilia pushes her away and moves to get up. "Are you okay?" You ask but unlike moments before Lilia is irritated to see you. She pushes you back to a pillar all the while with you squeaking, "Ow? I thought we were cool - !" 💙 "We are not cool, Teenager," she hisses at you once she has you pinned. Jen from her corner gives an ooooh, "Damn! Using his full name!" 🖤 "I'm sorry - I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have lashed out you like that. You didn't deserve to -"You stop. You can hear Lilia. You can hear her so loudly now, but she doesn't say a word she just glares at you. You respond, because when it's this loud you can't help it. "I wasn't hiding my power from you. I didn't know that I could - I'm not lying to you! It was a surprise to me, too. If I had known - I would've - I would've - Yes. Of course, I would have used it to save Alice. " 💙 "You're reading my mind," She comments breathlessly. "Only because it's so loud," you tell her and then quickly, "No offense." 🖤 "... I remember you now. Your Bar Mitzvah." This causes you to pause. It's a completely unexpected remark and for a moment you've got to grapple with that while Jen pulls Lilia to the side to tell her that they're not mad at you anymore and that Lilia's the one who told her that time was an illusion. Lilia gets back to work. 💙 You go to help her remove the sword from the seat, tentative in motion, telling her that you're glad she's here. She smiles a little ruefully, "Only because you need me now. Ain't that just like a witch?" 🖤 A moment. You have to ask her now, while you have the chance, "Lilia? Are you the one who cast the sigil on me?" 💙 "I saw what was going to happen to you that night. I saw who you were and who you would become. I knew you'd need time." 🖤 For a single moment theres a somber feeling and then multiple swords start to fall from the ceiling. "We didn't even put any cards down!" Jen exclaims. The ceiling begins to lower once more. 💙 "Maybe no cards is as bad as the wrong cards," You remark as the hour glass that marks your timer continues to go down alongside the ceiling. The vision ends.
