As canon powers are coming into play, Phoenix is also coming into his more powerful telepathy. Currently he will pretty much always have either the blessing version or canon version active (depending on what powers he's used recently). For both versions, this is telepathy boosted by empathy meaning that the thoughts come with the emotions more often than not. His blessing telepathy works in one of two situations: 1.) He feels close with or like he knows another person (be it positive or negative). This would be a more constant stream. 2.) Someone (even unknown to him) is feeling an emotion intensely near him and the thought transmits. Emotional intensity is important here. 3. This is a passive blessing and he can't turn it off. His canon telepathy works as follows: 1.) The above rules still apply for how easily he hears someone. Anyone who is emotionally more frazzled or that he's close to will always be louder than those that are neither. 2.) Otherwise, this is full on telepathy that allows him to hear a town's worth of people at once. Constantly. (: Similarly to the blessing, this is considered a passive power. While there's some reason to believe he has more control over it by the end of AAA given the first two conditions still apply they likely override it if someone is having a Time or Important. 3. He CAN deep-dive thoughts and access others subconscious (as confirmed by the writers). He does not currently have access to this and when he does I will not use it without actually speaking to the person or them have indicated it in a tag. Period. 4. He is capable of sending thoughts to others and offering to let people see into his mind if he wants. 5. He can also use this to see into other people's minds as they do in that moment. Fun. This is also something I will never do without explicit permission. 6. Through using this he has limited clairvoyance(?) and can find/pin point where people are and the indicator we seem to have here is. This seems to be a mixture of telepathy and magick??? My Dos/Don'ts OOCly: Sorry for the wall of text, but given how telepathy and Billy's mental kit is I want to be incredibly clear on how I handle it! I've listed some I will nots above but I want to be clear: this is only ever used to enhance/make for fun CR things not for information advantage. 1. I will never use information he gets mentally from Character A and give it to Character B unless this is plotted out between all players involved. 2. While as a general rule I play that he hears "noise" and elevate it based off of the particular incident (so a very intense emotionally painful performance I play it as he hears pain or more affectionate stuff he might blush more easily). This will never be distinct character voices unless you want to do something funny. It is just Noise! 3. Unless you respond to this post, make clear in a tag, or we've talked about it OOC/DMs I will never assume he's ever heard your character. 4. I only ever want to do this for CR growth and/or funny moments. I am also happy to help facilitate CR growth between other characters - see point 1 here - if people want him to overhear something and pass it on in concern or w/e. I am happy to possibly have negative CR there to help others increase CR outside of us. 5. While with the canon version he does absolutely hear a lot more people consistently, I will always value emotional beats over informational beats so I'm still not using this in a way to just farm for info from other characters. The only ones he might get are ones you provide me. 6. He will never overhear anything from private conversations unless greenlit. Similarly, he will obviously never be able to hear anything in other Family Rooms. 7. While he will eventually be getting the rest of his telepathic abilities back which include things like mental and emotional control and manipulation......... Please know this is VERY last for me because it does not interest me as an rper except for cool plot things and thus I am not including it in these perms because I have 0 intention of ever using it without explicit plotting. Apologies if this is a lot or seems over-worrying!!! I just worry and want people to know I just want this to be a fun thing and not a crazy thing. Magic Sensing: A quick small thing! But mixing with what we know of the MCU witches/Wanda/comics he would be able to sense magic and magic phenomena. So this is just a little blurb to notate that and a place to ask permission for it later! Character Name: |
