The younger brother of Ayala and Jonah (twin). 🖤 The Zahors are a religious leaders within the Holy Order but considered fairly low ranking. Their mother is the equivalent of a Rabbi in a similarish religious version of Judaism. It's not 1 for 1 but it's got a lot of similarities since I don't want to erase that he's Jewish even in AU. 🖤 Their family were essentially the community leaders of a small, very religious town on the coast. Not exactly Holy Order affiliated but /wiggles hand. His mother at least would be on some records for her job description and might be known by others. 🖤 They were and are in fact a very loving and normal family otherwise. Literally, kid deserves a normal, happy family where he doesn't feel his [ complicated feelings ] and that's his birth AU family. They're ridiculously caring, kind, and giving. Well-liked and well-received and always looking out for their community. 🖤 Came into his Telepathy Blessing shortly after Jonah came into a Speedster Blessing when they were eight. He did so by hearing the distress of some children when another broke a leg playing. 🖤 He didn't exactly "come out," everyone kind of knew just as he did and it was never a big deal. That did not mean that his first official crush admission at thirteen wasn't super fucking embarrassing and public. 🖤 He was a good, quiet kid. He liked to make up adventure stories and enjoyed magic things. His siblings played with him a lot. He got in trouble for not always doing his religious studies and reading adventure books instead sometimes. A lot more open and free pre-amnesia and both he and Jonah were considered "popular" among their schoolmates. 🖤 At fourteen/fifteen his family went on a family cruise and [for ease of stuff] in an accident he goes overboard and can't be located. After a near year of searching they call that he can't be found and is most likely dead. (No one assumes he can be amnesiac because of the accident itself).
POST-AMNESIA 🖤 PRE-SHIP CR INCLUDES: Dove, Gingham, Frost, Gray, Nightingale/Starling, Calico, Parisa, Aster (as River v briefly), Duran, Iris 🖤 He does in fact wake up amnesiac with a nearby Dove and they spend their first few days together trying to figure things out and get by. 🖤 When they find help the Disorder becomes super interested in adopting Dove which makes both of them uncomfortable since they're all each other had. The Disorder isn't exactly interested in adopting him - because adopting two young teenagers is a lot of work - but they're not NOT interested. Finding out when they're talking to Dove that he has a Telepathy Blessing is what makes them adopt him. They think he'll be useful. 🖤 Their adoptive parents are influential/wealthy members of the restaurant industry and are popular for catering, their expensive restaurants, and have spawned at least one cooking show. Very famous in the industry in the way of Gordon Ramsey where people know their names. 🖤 Phoenix's early times as an amnesiac is v similar to how it happens in canon thanks to the telepathy blessing - he begins to close himself off and responds in answer to the blessing. Meaning that he did more for others and closed off parts of himself to make others happy. 🖤 Their new adoptive guardians adore Dove as they wanted a daughter. They think they can find uses for Phoenix in their business and he's happy to oblige. He thinks this means the restaurant business and at first it is - he likes cooking in the kitchen with their father at first. It's fun. 🖤 Their adoptive parents aren't entirely just on the hospitality industry and one day his father has him come with him to his other work. Phoenix learned quickly how his telepathy could be abused if others knew of it because they tortured a guy who wouldn't give them information in hopes that he would hear it. He did, of course, and hoping that it would make them stop he told them what the man was thinking. It did not make them stop. 🖤 This would happen a few more times and Phoenix would slowly build into not telling them by saying they were too emotional and frantic (sometimes it was the truth, sometimes he knew what they wanted). Mostly they thought the crying kid was useless. 🖤 During his early days of high school he would be bullied when someone gets a hold of his journal that's a lot about his feelings/writing down stuff he was afraid to forget, etc. While there's definitely some bullying about his being gay ala canon it is not the majority. 🖤 High school in a big city school turns out to be absolutely killer when you're an empath based telepath and he struggles. He mostly keeps to his schoolwork and closes himself off a lot. The school councilors worry about it and the fact he has very few friends. 🖤 It takes about a year to kind of settle. He begins going to book club and having a part-time job helps. He gets encouraged to get a pet to help and his guardians reluctantly agree to it so he gets a rabbit thinking at least it wouldn't be so noisy and messy (the learning curve was real). He goes from wearing nicer, certainly more rich kid clothes to making his own and dressing goth. His adoptive guardians hate it. He wears it more. 🖤 At some point he gets scouted for a movie under Gray and that happens [ it released while he was on ship and did well so now he has more money than he knew what to do with. ] 🖤 While still relatively easy-going, quick to accomodate to others needs, and caring Phoenix was not a "popular" kid like Zev was and mostly went to school, went home, went to work, and walked with his rabbit. He did have a few friends and had an easier time around them. 🖤 He did begin to go to a witchy themed game store in the last six months and attended many game evenings and was hoping to apply for a job whenever they had a position (he currently works at Frost's cafe and would find a way to balance it trust).
POST SHIP 🖤 On the D.V. Dreamdrift was the first time Phoenix really tried to figure out who he was when people said they wanted to know the real him. In turn the Phoenix from before slowly began to act more like Zev rather he knew it or not.
🖤 During the docking in Port of 250-260 Phoenix refused to return to his adoptive guardians home. With the help of others managed to actually find his biological family. This is how he learned his age is seventeen not sixteen as an excuse to age him up after over half a year of playing him/who knows exactly in the MC. 🖤 The day before they returned to ship he was formally/legally returned to his biological parents house and while he did not leave the Family Unholy Disorder (because likes the ship disorders, he's not sure he wants to be in a Family or if he does choose one properly when he's eighteen he thinks it'd be neither of the Orders anyway... look he's a star themed kid he knows what he's about)... he did once more take back up the last name Zahor and is debating a new nom that fits all of him. 🖤 The above has probably caused some upset and been on the news at least a little but the family tried quieting it pretty quickly. For some sources it's just another disorder-order transaction.
